Then what he finally wanted was
more light.
The darkening better
for that purpose.
But, perhaps that's what he saw:
More light
than ever seen by human eyes;
a godly, unseen, odd light
too fast for metaphors to catch.
More light
after lives of light.
More light
while all came black.
More light
than stars swear at night.
More light!
More light!
More light!
